Standouts:

Doctor Who series 4 (2008): I regret not giving Doctor Who a chance earlier cause GODDAMN this show is so good. The Doctor himself is such a fascinating character and I never could've expected the sheer of underlying tragedy and sadness this show would have. I think this season is definitely my favorite so far, cause Silence in the Library, Forest of Death, Midnight, Turn Left, and the two part finale are all bangers on after another. And that ending.....Fuck. 10/10

Godzilla Minus One (2023): Am I a Godzilla fan? I'm starting to think I might be. I've only seen this, the original and Shin Godzilla, but I adored each of them. This one in particular was a beautiful, emotionally powerful story about even the most terrible of situations being survivable. This movie, along with Suzume, gave me a message that I felt deeply comforted by. 9/10

The Twilight Zone season 5 (1963-1964): I've been binge-watching the entirity of The Twilight Zone for a while now and this month, I finally finished all 156 episodes! This is such an elegant show, with as many haunting and poignant episodes as there are campy and goofy ones. Even if this season landed with a pretty lame finale episode, going through this series was such a lovely experience. If I had to pick my favorite episodes from this season, it'd be The Masks, I Am the Night - Color Me Black, What's in the Box, and An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge. My Favorite episode overall though is Nothing in the Dark. 9/10 (the rating for the whole show is a 10/10, if you're curious)

The Path (2009): I've been meaning to play this game for such a long time and dear god, I'm so glad I finally did. Atmospheric games with vague visual implications about its characters are my absolute favorite, so this was a delight for me. The aestheic of this game is perfectly twisted and gothic, especially with the soundtrack and those damn dream sequences. I got confused and lost a few times while trying to find stuff, but it didn't dampen my enjoyment of it all that much. I would KILL for a remake better suited for modern computers, honestly. 9/10

The Society of the Snow (2023): An intense, devestating film about survival and the brutality of the cold. The plane crash and aftermath following it are so brutually depicited that the situation really does feel completely hopeless. The plot is so unforgiving that you really think it's impossible for it to end well, but that's exactly what makes the small triumphs so much more impactful. Some scenes in this wouldn't be out of place in a horror film and it makes me even more terrified of plane rides than I already was. It really is such a shame that this has gone nearly entirely ignored by the Oscars. 9/10
